Well right away you are going to notice that I didn't have the Mamaway Baby Ring Sling Carrier over my shoulder correctly. It started out in the right position and then moved with the weight of the baby. If you are going to use this carrier for any amount of time you really have to position it over your shoulder evenly especially with an older baby. (like in the picture above and to the right) My granddaughter is 1 year old and 23.5 pounds so she can be quite an armful. Even wearing it like this, my back did not feel the strain that it usually does while carrying her. It was pulling quite a bit on my neck that is why I am telling you that you must get it positioned correctly so that it doesn't bunch up around your neck and so that the weight is distributed more evenly. Even so, my granddaughter who loves to be held anyway actually really liked being in this Mamaway Baby Ring Sling Carrier. She was quite content and I think she would have stayed there a long time.
IMHO, if worn correctly this would make carrying my granddaughter much easier on my back and allow me to have my hands free when needed. It was comforting to her and she certainly seemed to feel safe and secure. I was worried that her legs would be all squished up in there but she just tucked herself right in to me and was right at home. She didn't want to have her legs sticking out. We have another little one on the way and I think this would be wonderful to keep the baby close and allow me to still be able to have my hands free to type away at the computer. This would make carrying the infant around a breeze. And if he/she is anything like sister, there will be a lot of carrying going on.
Cons: Well, one would be that it has to be hung to dry instead of put in the dryer. But honestly this could be hung over the shower curtain rod very easily. The only other thing is that I would have liked if it came in a cuter pattern for a baby or even a plain color like pastel pink or baby blue. But those things are not deal breakers. The colors they do come in (there are 14 to choose from) are probably more durable choices and won't show stains as much.
The Mamaway Baby Ring Sling Carrier did not come with any instructions. Instead, it came with a bar code on the package that I had to scan. That gave me a website that showed me how to use the carrier. We have only in the past year gotten smartphones so I am sure there might be some people who could not scan the bar code. But the company emailed me a link to the videos a few days after I received the Mamaway Baby Ring Sling Carrier. (I did not request this, they just did it on their own.) I was very happy to receive the information. This was quite helpful.
Customer service is great! I have received several emails asking me how I liked my Mamaway Baby Ring Sling Carrier and asking me if I needed any help.
The Mamaway Baby Ring Sling Carrier is available on Amazon here. It folds up into a little pouch when not in use so you can easily take it with you. Super light yet tough enough to support up to 50 kgs of weight. I looked it up and that is 110 pounds. I am pretty sure then that this carrier could handle any baby or toddler.
