I just love a good clean romantic book. Every Girl Gets Confused by Janice Thompson delivers! This book may be part of the Brides with Style Series but it certainly can stand alone.
Katie Fisher won a contest for a beautiful wedding gown and winning literally changed her life. She wore the dress, designed by Nadia James, and was on the cover of Texas Bride magazine. This led to her working in the Cosmopolitan bridal shop with Brady James.
Katie is busy helping her grandmother, Queenie, prepare for her wedding to Reverend Bradford. Alva Queenie’s sister is also helping and Katie even gets to see romance come alive for her even at her age. It seems that everyone around her has found love. But Katie is still waiting to hear the words from Brady who shows his love in many ways but has never voiced them. Could she be wrong about his feeling for her?
Katie’s ex-boyfriend, Casey Lawson shows back up in her life and acts very interested. Will she leave Brady to go back to Casey?
If you like Doris Day, you will love the quotes at the beginning of each chapter. In fact, Eduardo works on a dress for Carrie that is a replica of one Doris Day wore back in the day but they made even more improvements for it and it is exquisite. Carrie’s life in itself could be a book. There is family drama, sports fans and then tragedy. It keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Brady is so caught up with an injury that just may end his career that he puts Katie on the back burner. A sermon about season’s is mentioned repeatedly through the book as it applies to just about every characters situation. Since Casey has come back into her life it makes you wonder if Katie will go running back to him since they have been friends since they were little.
This book will have you laughing, sitting on the edge of your seat and feeling all warm and fuzzy when some romances work out. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series and even though it isn’t necessary I think I will go read the first one as well. I figure if Janice Thompson writes this well that I want to read them all. So IMHO, thumbs up, 5 stars whatever, just go buy the book because this is one I can stand behind 100% and say I recommend it!
