*This is a sponsored post but rest assured all opinions are 100% my own (and that of my grandchildren).
At this present time I have three grandchildren. Kaitlyn is seven, Madelyn is two and baby Caralyn is only seven months old. They love when their grandma reads books to them. Many times while reading the books I will change the names to that of one or more of the grandchildren. Now that Kaitlyn can read, she calls me on it and says, “That isn’t what it says Grandma.”
She is right. Most of the books are not made just for them but I know how much they love it when I include them in the story. I found the perfect solution! Put Me In The Story actually does what the name says. It puts the child right in the story. Not only is their name in the book but also a picture that you provide.
When I partnered with Put Me In The Story to bring you this post and they provided me with books personalized for my grandchildren, I was able to see their faces light up when they are in the books for real.
Check out this video for their reactions.
There was total surprise and pointing and they couldn’t wait to see the next page to see if their name or picture would be on it. They actually wanted to listen and to see what they were doing next in the story. What a wonderful way to get your kids involved in reading and perhaps foster a love of reading from a young age.
As a grandma I am always looking for gifts that won’t end up in the donation bin. While I love that the kids share their toys with others, I am always searching for that one gift that will mean so much they will want to keep it forever. Last year I bought matching stuff animals with a nice little saying on the foot that I thought would touch their hearts and they haven’t really played with them at all. (You understand, how many times has this happened to you?)
This year I hit the mark with these books. They can keep these books and as they get older look back and remember the great time they had reading them with grandma. They even have a special message in the front from grandma an grandpa that I hope makes the books even more dear to them. I would have loved to have had one of these books from childhood saved for me by my mom. I can picture them years from now showing the books to their kids.
Let me point out that these are not just any books, they are bestsellers. They are nice glossy hard cover books. In 2016, Put Me In The Story published over 60 new books with partners like Disney, Curious George National Geographic Kids, Curious George, Harper Collins, Sesame Street, Star Wars, The Avengers, and more.
Below are the books that we had the wonderful chance to review:
SESAME STREET: I LOVE YOU JUST LIKE THIS! featuring Elmo. Who doesn’t love Elmo and his Sesame Street (registered trademark) friends? This book incorporates the child’s name through pages about counting, seasons and just a reinforced message that we love her! How perfect!
Fancy Nancy Tea Parties is exactly what the title says it is. This book is fancy and frilly and includes everything from etiquette, recipes, decorations and instructions about what to wear. This book is really for 4-7 years of age but our Maddie has a special appreciation for all things pretty so I knew she would love it and I was right.
Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses is also for ages 4-7. This book is for boys or girls and I love the positive message in this book. Out of the books we received this one had the most pictures of the child. (You know they just love seeing themselves.)
In a time when everything is electronic, these books do a wonderful job of getting your child interested in a book instead. If your child is like my grandchildren, they will want you to read the book again and again. I don’t think they ever get tired hearing their name and seeing their picture in the book.
Head over to Put Me In The Story to check it out for yourself. They have so many books to choose from that it is fun just to browse the site. Just a few of the other books they are:
· Curious George Curious You: On Your Way – Encourage your child’s love of discovery with an adventure with Curious George!
· Disney’s Dream Big, Princess –11 Disney Princesses tell their stories, encouraging young children to dream big, believe in themselves, and work hard to achieve their dreams!
